In Which Seven Is Pretty

"I know I'm young now, baby, but think of it this way. I've got 10 years of schoolin' before I graduate to you!"

"You need to get your little ass home before you get me arrested, kid."

I'm pretty sure that is not what your dad brought you here for, Barney. I swear, I named him after the purple dinosaur.

Welcome back to the Sh*thouse ISBI! Last chapter Biggie and Jordan both passed away, Violet and Barney both became children, and Violet the hooligan landed twice on the wrong side of the law.

Today the Hoggle family is going to their very first festival. Well, the kids anyway, and without Seven. He goes to sleep somewhere around 10am every day, so he definitely would have passed out, had he gone.

"I don't like it."

That's fine, you don't have to do it again.

The kids both got snacks, even though neither one was particularly hungry.

"I wish y'all had chocolate, but this will do."

Did you get guacamole with those?

"Heh-heh. No, my baby cousin is at home with his parents."

"I am so gonna win this, Barney! I can grab apples way faster than you!"

"You do know you have to use your teeth and not your hands, right?"

"What?"

"Well forget that! I ain't gettin' all wet."

"Nobody's gonna play with me, are they?"

Nope. No one else came to bob for apples, so Barney moved on.

"I could try this house once, or five times."

It's 10:45pm, your dad called you home almost an hour ago. Shouldn't you be going?

"In a minute."

"Brrrrrrr!! It's cold! I guess I'll go home now."

He didn't leave until after 11, and not a peep from the cops.

Next day,

"Why isn't Dewy answering the door?"

Dewy's not here. He hit the "can get called into work at any damn time" stage of his career.

"And it's such a fucking annoyance. I swear that damn cake better not catch fire."

A confused Oscar and my rude-ass simself? Must be a party.

"I wish to have a very frustrating life!"

"Can I get a pony?"

LOL!! Oh sweet summer child, ever so much NO.

She rolled "equestrian" for her trait, which is going to do jackshit for her as I hate playing horses. Plus this isn't a horse kind of game. A dog or cat we can work with, horses are for nice houses and lots.

You could sit at the picnic table. There's a spot.

"LOL!! I could. I'm not gonna, but I could."

I can't even get mad.

"Oh my god, why is this still happening??"

"Oops, sorry Vi! The picnic table is still closer the this sink than the one in the kitchen."

Not that it matters.

"Uh, your sink's broken."

FABULOUS!! And Dewy's still at work.

"Yaaaay! It's my birthday! And there's a strange lady in my bedroom!"

"Happy Birthday, guy I barely know!!"

Okay, Candy, I did not invite your old ass, it's late. Party's over. GO HOME!! Damn.

Not only is raking wet leaves in the pouring rain still a thing, but we now have a distracting chipmunk AND a distracting squirrel. Watch out, squirrel, that rake is going to get you!

"Always believe in yourself. Do this and no matter where you are, you will have nothing to fear."

"*sniff* I can't believe I have to go home. I love this house so much! I want to stay forever and ever. Don't you know what's going to happen to me if I leave?"

Bye, Candy.

"It's my birthday, too!!"

*yawn*

"I feel pretty."

"Alright, who the hell is this lady sleeping in my bed like a darned chainsaw?"

Oh, you're gonna find out.

"Dad, why can't I get a horse?"

"We don't have the space, Vi. Horses need a lot of room to graze and run around."

"Well, couldn't we board it somewhere?"

"There's nowhere in the whole town, that I know of."

"Can't we move?"

"I'm sorry, Vi, it's not happening."

"Hmph. Uncle Hulk would buy me a horse."

"The hell he will!"

"I'm sorry, Barney, I know you're hungry, but you need to go to school!"

"Aw man!! How come you're not at work? You left this morning when Violet and I did! Why didn't Vi magically poof home?"

"Honestly son, I don't know. One minute I'm filling out my report, the next I'm standing in the front foyer with you. It's best we not think too hard on it."

I was bored, watching Seven sleep, when Dewy and Barney appeared out of nowhere. They had been reset for whatever reason. At least Dewy could tell Barney to go back to school. I checked on Violet and.....

"Yes!! The cheat codes DO work!!"

 Later that night,

"*SOB* Oh Great-Auntie Sunny, I am going to miss you so much!!"

Sunny finally passes away. I'm thinking it happened at the art museum, which is how Violet knows about it, and also why she came home of her own accord, as opposed to a police escort.

Sunny's husband, Jaime, moved right on with her niece, Yoda. You can tell I've been playing this game file for 5 generations. It's like Melrose Place up in here.

"*sniff* *SNIFF* Oh god, I reek! I really need a bath."

Unfortunately that's not happening until Dewy gets out of work.

"Oh my god, who are you??"

"Relax, Violet, it's me, Papa."

"Papa?? You're,.............. but ............... you've got a flower in your hair."

"Yes, I know. Maybe I want my hair to smell nice. Did you think of that?"

I love this game in all its weirdness.

"Come on, guys! We've got to get in there before the line for the Haunted House gets really long!"

Barney: "I don't know. That house is not all it's cracked up to be."

Violet: "I don't care. I still want to see some ghosts!!"

Barney: "We see ghosts almost every night!"

"Listen, Hulk, I've got a favor to ask. If Violet says anything to you about a horse or a pony, please do not buy her one! She really wants one but we've got nowhere to keep it."

"Oh, okay, sure. I don't know where I'd get one anyway. I haven't seen any horses around Aurora Springs, just the unicorn. And you can't buy the unicorn."

"Unico??? ....... you know what, nevermind. You're right. You can't buy unicorns. Thank god."

"Yeah, I hear you gotta make friends with it and ask it to come live with you. Oh, did you hear, Dewy? Pickle and Brett had another baby. A girl!"

"What'd they name this one? Cucumber?"

"No! But that's a great name! Maybe the next one. They named her Ireland."

"Really? That's ......... actually a nice name."

I got the brilliant idea of continuing the color naming scheme for each generation of spares, so I'll have a better idea down the line of who belongs to what generation.

"So Dewy, how, exactly, does this surrogacy thing work? You DON'T use hookers, right?"

Let's go check on the kids.

"They are SO talking about getting me a horse!"

"Are not, Violet. You heard Dad, we haven't got enough room."

"Hmph. So not fair."

"Come here, you little bastards!!"

"Be nice, Violet, the apples didn't do anything to you."

"Uncle Hulk, what are you doing?"

"*sigh* I'm not getting any apples. And now I'm all wet."

"Suit yourself!"

"Yes!! I won!! What do I get? A trophy? A tiara??"

Better! A pie!! Which I'm hoping you all will eat before it goes bad in our shitty fridge.

"Oh. Well. That's good, too. Beats Papa's burnt waffles."

"Dad! You're soaked! Is it raining?"

"No, I just lost to your sister at bobbing for apples. So be ready, Barney, I'm going to win this one!!"

"Well one of us better, cause losing an eating contest to a ghost will be really embarrassing."

"Aaaaaaaaah! Air, need air!! Did I win? I did!! I won!!"

"Sooo, what do I get?"

More pie!!

"Oh. Well, better than burnt waffles I suppose."

"Where is Dewy? Why isn't he coming to the car to make out with me?"

It's two o'clock in the morning, man. Dewy's asleep.

"So?"

I guess the car is now "make-out-able in". Seven does this for hours, every night he doesn't have to work. Sometimes I have mercy on him and cancel it out of Dewy's queue. Other times,

"Dammit, Dewy! Now my neck's all screwed up."

"What the hell??"

"Hi, Violet!!"

LOL! When it's not her fathers walking in on her, it's her grandfather.

Aren't you cold?

"Well I won't be once Seven gets his butt out here."

"You really do look pretty."

"I said not to mention it!"

I don't think it's actually possible to fog up the windshield of an open convertible.

Next day,

"My boyfriend died! I'm so sad!!"

You've already started seeing someone else. Jaime, remember? Your Aunt's widower?

"Are you suggesting that a girl can't do both?"

"It's way past my bedtime. I'm exhausted so I'm just gonna go home."

"Come on, Dad! It's time for cake!"

"I don't want to. I want to stay in here forever."

"That's all who came to my party? This dude?"

I invited 15 people, including the whole, direct, family. Only one of them, aside from Dewy, who I made get out of the hot tub, and Violet, tore themselves away from the pools and hot tubs to come cheer for Barney.

Coming up, a teen age Barney, the first winter comes to Aurora Skies, and I choose the heir for Generation Five.
