In Which No One In A Relationship Can Get Their Shit Together

"Laydez!!"

We're back. Now both Violet and Barney are teens. Not much happened last chapter, so that's as good a recap as any.

Someone grew up a douchebag. Complete with haircut. I gave him new clothes in Stylist but left his hair.

Barney was able to roll for his trait this time, so he's now a clumsy virtuoso, who likes things done perfectly, and will never have to worry about where his next meal or few simoleons will come from as he's a big, fat mooch.

"Oh my god, my kids are teenagers."

I know the feeling.

"Remember, guys, I want you to head home before 11pm, I don't want to see any of my co-workers bringing you to the door."

"*yawn* It's after midnight. I guess I ought to start thinking about going home."

Barney seems to be glitched. I've never gotten a curfew warning for him, even as a child. And he never gets harassed by the cops, no matter how late he stays out.

"They're too preoccupied with Violet."

Who went home of her own accord hours ago.

The ghosts and non-torchholders successfully, autonomously, complete the body work on the car. I can't believe it. I guess if they actually finish the car, I'll put it in the family inventory for the duration of the game, seeing as they can't use it, nor should they get any money for it.

What the??

"Don't worry. I totally nailed it for you."

I don't know what that snowman did, but I'm sure he deserved it.

What'cha makin' there, Dew?

"A new place to woohoo."

Barney: "Wait, what? I thought this was a fort of some kind?"

Dewy: "You may not want to sit in the car, either."

If anyone is concerned about the welfare of the distracting rodents, have no fear. They are doing just wonderfully, darting around in aimless circles underneath the snow.

In fact, distracting chipmunk cloned himself and now we have three distracting rodents!

Oops, wrong Chip and Dale.

"I don't understand, what do you mean we won't be able to drive the car? We've worked so hard on it!"

"I don't get it, either, kiddo. I'm just telling you what I heard."

As you can see, sims will autonomously repair the engine as well.

"Hey Barney, where's Rose?"

"I don't know. Bathroom?"

"I don't think so, I haven't seen her since we got off the bus."

"How did my homework get damp?"

"Barney, your yard is hurting my butt!"

"Then come sit on the front walk!"

"Where'd Violet go?"

"Man, Gabriel is taking forever to get out of school."

That's a lot of cold, wet ass.  Am I surprised? Of course not.

Violet: "I am so glad that today is a snow day. This house really needs a cleaning."

Barney: "Yeah, and I'm starving!! At least I'll have time for breakfast this morning."

"Oops, there's the bus! Come on, Vi! We gotta go!"

"What the heck? Who left waffles in the oven? Now I'm going to be late for work! Where are the kids? I thought school was canceled today?"

"Hey man, where's everybody else? Why are we the only ones on the bus?"

"Uh, there's no school today, didn't you hear?"

"We did, but you came anyway so I thought we'd heard wrong."

"No, you heard right. But driving this bus Monday through Friday is the only life I'll ever have, so I'm going to do it come hell or high water. Once I drop you off you two can do whatever you want."

"Eh, might as well go to school."

It was the wierdest thing. I'm used to the bus still coming on snow days, but usually the kids walk into school, then come right back out again. Then they either go back home or hang out in town. This time they went to school and stayed there all day like a normal school day. This game, I swear. I'm just glad Dewy hadn't left for work already.

"Congratulations, Yoda! That's great! What did you name her? .................... Spinach. Like the food? ............. no, I'm not making fun of your baby's name. I'm very happy for you! ...................... Well I didn't mean for it to sound snarky, I'm sorry.................Good...............No, I haven't heard anything about Oscar."

"He's dating WHO?? .... Geneva?? That can't be right! Isn't she grandma's, brother's kid? AND she's old as hell!!  ................... Seriously? What the sam hill is wrong with him??"

Yeah, Geneva is Pepto's daughter. So Oscar is dating his father's first cousin. Of course Bubbie and Pepto only share 50% of their DNA to begin with since they have different fathers, so while still gross, it's a little less gross than it sounds.

"Regardless, Congratulations to you and Jaime, you guys will make great parents! ........... What? ............ Really. What happened? .................................."

"Well, as long as you're happy, that's what matters. ............. Love you, too. Bye! Well that was one hell of a phone call."

Nobody stays married in this game. I should check my mod settings.

"You can sit at the table with me and do your homework, Ricky."

"I will, but first, my girlfriend is texting me."

"What's wrong?"

"She broke up with me! Out of the clear blue!"

"Why?"

"I don't know. She didn't say."

"Rude! You can totally do better than her, Ricky."

"Yeah, I guess. Not anytime soon, though. I'm done with dating!!"

"Smart."

"Thanks."

Ricky and Violet autonomously call and text each other all the time, so I utilized my powers of Nraas to make Ricky and his girlfriend just friends, and I put him in stasis so he won't go getting any other girlfriends until Violet grows up. I'm leaning toward her for torchholder and it'd be nice to not have to give her a bin spouse.

I guess things didn't work out between Jean and Yoda.

Um, what are you doing?

"Nothing. Just thinking about Ricky."

Teens, they'll "hang out" anywhere.

"Ew!! What is that awful smell?"

"It's you, sis. Maybe you ought to go home and take a bath."

"Nah. Do you want to build a snowmaaaaaan?"

"Okay, but please don't sing that damn song again."

"I have seen some stuff."

Why aren't you at work? Why does no one do what they are supposed to do?

Yeah, he wasn't at work.  Luckily it was early enough to send him back. I never did find out what all the drama was about.

Not that it matters, I'll be passing the torch soon.

While I'm not sure of THE drama, some drama definitely popped up in the notifications.

The exes decide it's no longer worth it.

Well that's nice of Pickle, to take in her sister and niece. Although ............. the notification doesn't say anything about Spinach.

And that would be because Spinach stayed with her father. I decided to go have a peek at Pickle and her family, and Yoda, all living in this little, two-bedroom build of mine.

Here's Guacamole. He's artistic, disciplined, and inappropriate. I think he looks like his dad.

And here's Ireland, who looks a lot like Pickle. She's excitable and brave, and ??? as I didn't get her birthday notification until after I visited their house.

Speaking of extended family weirdness,

At least they can't have kids.

"Catch, Papa!!"

"I got it!!"

"Catch, sweetheart!!"

"OW!!!"

"What the hell was that? If that's how you're going to play, I'm going to bed!!"

Please do, it's after midnight. She was about to go to bed when Seven interrupted her to ask to have a snowball fight. I like Seven well enough but the nights he doesn't work, he's wide awake and completely disruptive.

And impaling himself on the snowmen. That looks like it hurts!  And hey! Look at that!

It took five generations but we finally get our first gnome! Meet Grape.

"You need to know karaTE?? I show you karaTE!!"

"Who said that?"

This is the last time you'll see the car. I was going through everyone's inventory, cleaning out books mostly, when I noticed that Seven was messing around outside, with this moodlet.

They are not supposed to get the "decorated" moodlet. That's why there's a limit on decor with an environment rating. It was a fairly new moodlet so I wasn't sure what was causing it. I put everything in the yard in the family inventory and the moodlet disappeared. I put a few things back, one by one, and when I tried to put the car back, I couldn't without placing a parking space first. So that was that. It's still in the family inventory. All the igloos got deleted, too, so Seven and Dewy will have to woohoo somewhere else.

So Dewy, Yoda, and Hulk are over halfway through their adult life bars, time is ticking. Hulk still hadn't found anyone. I hate to see my family oriented sims never have any children, so I played Simgod.

I gave him twins. Two kids for the price of one! I randomized the sexes and he got .................

A girl,

and a boy!!

Their mother is some random service person, a maid I think. I popped over to Hulk's house to check on them.

"WHAT THE F*&#!! I'M FREEZING AND I CAN'T SEE A D@^$ THING!!!"

Clover is the one bitching and moaning. Lantern is pretty quiet. I'm assuming he's still alive, and that someone will come rescue them soon.

"Um, did somebody lose a baby? She was outside in the snow!"

She's all yours, Hulkie. There's a boy out there somewhere, too.

"Really? How?"

Don't think too hard on it, just be a good dad.

With a little help from the ghost, apparently.

"Aw man! I really gotta go!!!"

"Ahhh, it's a good morning for a nice, long bath."

"Dammit!!"

"*sniff* Ugh, Barney, you stink!!"

"Well maybe if you didn't take ten years in the bathroom!!"

Meanwhile, at 2am......

"YEAH!! Who cares that it's way late and I have school tomorrow! THIS is fun!! Thanks, Papa!!"

"So it's kind of what I do. Keep the kids up late and distract the hired help."

Dammit, Seven! I've got a party to throw here!!

"My sweet girlfriend that the simgod never mentioned I had, I shall miss you so! *SOB*"

Yoda: "SO annoying."

Oscar: "Oh come on, Yoda! Like you have any room to talk!"

And another party ruined because my sims love SO's who have one foot in the grave.

Pickle: "Is Dewy going to stop working out? It's a party!"

Yes, my last act as his puppeteer will be to make him stop working out so he can cheer for Violet.

See? He stopped.

Violet: "What is wrong with everybody? Sobbing, complaining, everyone is looking in the wrong direction!"

And I think my simself is actually leaving.

"There's a big puddle on the floor. It wasn't me!!"

The sink got fixed, no thanks to Seven, so let's just be happy about that.

Coming up, you get a look at the torchholder for Generation Five and her labor intensive lifetime wish!
