Welcome back to the Shithouse ISBI! No real reason for the shot above. I tried allowing the full moon cycle again, using Retuner to ban zombies. Didn't work. I still got zombies a full moon cycle later. So that idea was abandoned once again.
Last chapter Violet grew up and assumed torchholdership. Her lifetime wish is to be a firefighter super hero. She got a job at the fire department, where she pretty much lives now, and at the end of the chapter, moved in Ricky, her coward boyfriend.
Violet's relationships with her co-workers are supposed to help her get promotions. The problem is that there are never any other firefighters around. Then, finally, about 2 weeks after getting the job, several other sims show up at the firehouse, claiming to work there.
Cassie: "Oh what?? You think that just because you freakin' live here that you're better than me??"
Violet: "What.The.Fuck."
Absolutely nothing happened between them. Cassie walked up and slapped Violet right out of the clear blue sky.
Violet was not going to take that sitting down.
"What the hell is wrong with you? Who walks up the their co-worker, that they've NEVER EVEN MET, and hits them??"
"Well maybe you ought to not be such a damn, ass-licking, goody two shoes. I know you're here all the damn time! Exercising, fixing the truck and the alarm. Don't go thinking that because you clearly don't have a life that you're any more important than the rest of us!!"
"So that's how it is around here, huh?"
"Yeah, that's how it is!"
"Then maybe you ought to show up more than once every couple of weeks and actually WORK for once, BITCH!!"
"You're going to regret that."
"*snort* Oh I seriously doubt it."
"Are you playin' with me? Are you seriously playin' with me??"
"No, I'm gonna kick your ass!!"
GET HER, VI!!!!
"You're goin' DOWN, mothafucka!!!"
Damn, I keep forgetting to switch to someone else during these shots so Violet's plumbob isn't dominating the shots. #SimmingFail
"Try showing up for work a little more often, sweetie! You could use some bench press time!!"
Tera: "Girl, that was amazing!! Nobody likes that bitch. I'm so glad you handed her her ass!"
"Oh god, she's like that to everyone?"
"Yup."
"In fact, I'll be surprised if she even comes back. Cassie talks big but she's a total baby."
"You really think she'll quit? That would be great!!"
"Not just her! You won't see any of us after today."
"What? Really? Why?"
"Girl, you totally got this!! You don't need us!"
And so it was true. This was the only time any "co-workers" ever showed up to the firehouse. Violet flew solo from this point on.
Uh oh. This is the first time someone has gotten sick. Everyone else either never got sick or had enough points to buy the immunity reward.
Which Ricky definitely does not have. I can't control him to send him for a vaccination. I guess we'll see how this goes.
How you doing there, Ricky?
"Eh, okay. Feeling a little off, but no big deal. Could you, uh, not block the tv, please?"
Nothing happened, really. Maybe if he had a real job (he works part time at the book store) or I'd wanted him to skill, it would have mattered. But otherwise, I assume all associated moodlets counted down eventually, and nothing bad happened. Good to know.
I suppose here is a good place to mention that while I'm allowing the immunity reward, I'm not allowing the "Immune to Heat/Cold" rewards. Those felt a little too much like the bodily function rewards, so my sims are free to freeze/burn to death as their stupidity allows. We shall see.
I really don't know what the hell sims are doing to set stone and tile floors on fire.
"People are STUPID!!"
True 'dat.
It did earn her the fireman's jacket, which was immediately sold after I took a picture.
"It's my birthday!!"
Happy Old Man Day, Dewy!!
"Can I take it back?"
No.
I got the aging up notification for Hulk's twins.
Cute!!
Old man Hulkie!! <3
This led me down the "let's find out how the other cousins are doing" rabbithole.
Pickle's kids. You've seen Guac, he doesn't look any different.
And Pickle's clone, Ireland.
It was while messing around in Pickle's house that I realized that Yoda lived there, but still without Spinach. So I went to check on Spinach.
"Yeah, I live with a ghost."
"Ah children. I love children. So innocent. So precious. So ................ alive."
So Spinach's father died and now she lives with her father's ex-wife and a ghost. Yoda and Jamaal were very briefly married a really long ass time ago.
"It's okay. I only have to clean the fireplace every other day."
Oh hell no.
Ireland: "Hey Spinach! What are you doing here?"
Spinach: "I live here now."
Damn right. Take care of your friggin' kid, Yoda!!
Shortly after I moved Spinach out, this happened........
This is the first notification I've gotten about him that wasn't about promotions or skilling. Good luck with that, kids.
"Hmph. I do not understand why we can't hire a repairsim. We did it about every damn day when I was growing up."
This is where living in a shitty house, with appliances and plumbing that have been around since Bubbie was a young adult, pays off. At least one thing breaks just about every day, so Violet's handiness and performance bar are steadily rising. I've, also, got her working on making everything self-cleaning except for the stove, which will be made fire-proof.
"Heh-heh-heh!! Something evil this way comes!!"
"My birthday!!!!"
"It's not bad, right? I look pretty much the same."
"You look fine, Mr. Hoggle."
"You're not even looking. Your eyes are closed."
"Yep."
"Can we finally get a new stove? I'm kinda starvin' here, and the stove is actin' all weird."
No, you can't. Get some cereal.
"Dammit, Dad, I gotta go to work soon, I need to eat!!"
"Oh, sorry, was I in your way? Or was I just remembering what it was like to try to eat while taking care of 4 babies?"
Uh, Dewy?
"Not now, I'm busy!!"
You're supposed to be at work.
"It's no big deal, I can miss one day."
The police/military building in Aurora Skies has a little room with a computer right by the entry gate. This has become a much bigger problem now that Dewy is no longer controllable.
Violet wanted to go to the art museum, where she ran into Spinach and Yoda.
"At least at Auntie's house I get real meals. Miss Cheyenne was never home, and Uncle Jamaal would rather haunt the stove than cook with it."
"Violet!!! Look at you, all grown up!! Sometimes I forget that Dewy's kids are actual adults now. So how are you? What are you up to?"
"Great!! I'm a firefighter, I just got promoted in fact! Now I can fight fires with an actual hose instead of a fire extinguisher!"
"That's fantastic! Congratulations!! This town really needs some good firefighters. All the ones I've seen seem to be asleep at the wheel."
"Oh you would not believe how slow that truck was until I worked on it. I fine-tuned the engine, among other things, so it runs like a top now."
"So I ran into Spinach just outside. She seems to like living with you and Auntie Pickle."
"She does! I really thought she'd like living in the mansion with a hot tub and plenty of bedrooms, so I didn't go get her after her father died. But I guess she likes living with her family more as she just showed up the other day. It's all good. It's nice having the younger cousins all together."
"Oh my god, did you hear? My brother, Barney, is dating your ex-husband's ex-wife!!"
"Cheyenne? Ha HAAAA!! Well good on him! She's a handful and a half but maybe she'll calm down a bit for him."
Somewhere in here I got a notification about Pepto's daughter, Geneva. Her portrait still showed her as a young adult, which is not possible. So I clicked to see what's what.
"It's such a lovely photo of me. I really should dye my hair."
Well, that's not what you expect to see.
"It's getting late. I should swim up to bed!"
She swam to the stairs then got reset by Error Trap. When I checked on her a minute later she was fast asleep in bed.
Witchcraft.
The next day, Pickle's old house catches fire. And by "house" I mean the corner of the graveyard.
Anytime now, Vi.
"Gotta get the kinks out."
She does, eventually, deal with the fire.
Not without an audience, of course.
"Oh dear. Perhaps I shouldn't have eaten that shellfish after all."
"You're not in hell, Mister. I am."
"I don't know what you did, but whatever it was, they're here to bring you in."
"What on earth is going on?"
No idea. There were no cops anywhere, just the cruisers parked by the side of the road with their lights going.
"They're probably mad that they lost the annual softball game in the bottom of the seventh inning."
You go, Yoda, you cougar you!!
Speaking of action ...................
Look who had time to get some! She's inching closer to adulthood, so it's time to get Generation Six underway.
Yeah, yeah.
"This is great! I love kids! And now you'll be home more."
"Yeah, I guess."
"People could just clean the tub, you know! If it bothers them that much."
I know you're a slob and don't care, but now no one will have to care again!
"Hmph. This is taking FOREVER."
"Get out, Violet! I gotta go!!"
Between family members wanting to bathe or use the toilet, it took Violet 3-4 attempts per object to upgrade the entire bathroom.
"I want to go back to the firehouse!!"
Dewy!!!
"What? Violet said she upgraded the tub. I wanna see."
"I wanna move to the firehouse."
Don't we all.
Not a points pass-out, FTR.
Thanks, Biggie.
"Hey, I haunted the lamp this time, not the stove. I don't know what that boy's problem is."
"Violet!! You are going to break that toilet!! And I need it, NOW!!"
"What I'm going to break, Dad, is YOUR HEAD!!"
Don't sweat it, Vi, the baby's coming.
Meet Midnight Hoggle! Midnight got to roll her traits, she's easily impressed and loves the cold.
"Whoa."
The dice determined that black is the color for generation 6.
"You know, I kind of like it!"
I decided to use the rainbow pattern as a secondary color to offset all the black. Otherwise we'll have a whole generation of hardly being able to see anything.
"Yikes!! Mom!! What was IN that bottle? Where are we?"
Tab mode has been giving me shit for awhile. This happens when I try to take interior shots. If the game doesn't like the angle of the camera, the walls and/or furniture all go away. Pffffft.
"Okay sweetie, Mommy can't trust the numbskulls at home to take good care of you, so you get to hang out at the best place in town while Mommy works on the truck and the alarm. And takes a shower. And uses the bathroom. And watches a little tv on the big screen."
"Oh look, a different ceiling! Awesome!!"
I plonked a crib down at the firehouse so Vi could maintain the truck and alarm, and get clean, without having to run home because everyone forgot there's a baby.
"'Sup, y'all?"
Midnight becomes a cute toddler.
"Well, I gotta run. My grandad is after me."
"It's Grandad's bedtime, Midnight. That means it's your bedtime, too."
"What the hell is wrong with this door? Why won't it open?"
"Sorry kid, you're gonna have to go play or something."
"Later Grands!!"
"My grandpa is snazzy."
"Wait, is this birthday a wedding too?"
Nope, the wedding is elsewhere.
Violet and Ricky left Midnight with the Dads and brother (hoping that between the three of them is one competent babysitter) and went out to the cabin on the shore that I completely overhauled.
One of the things I did was fill the shoreside wall with windows.
It's a beautiful view, even in the pouring rain.
After a quick woohoo in the bedroom that I honestly don't remember if I added or not, I at least upgraded the bed, they went home, hoping that Midnight survived.
Seven lives long enough to become the first non-torchholder to achieve his LTW. You and your opposite-hours living annoy me marginally less now, Seven.
Meanwhile, Violet fixes the sink for the eleventy-billionth time and becomes Fire Chief! She has yet to save a single life. I think she's gotten her last 2, maybe even 3, promotions while skilling at home or maintaining the truck and alarm. She hasn't actually worked in at least a sim week.
Sadly, there will be no truck on the lot. Sorry, Vi. You've got to work from the firehouse.
"That is not a problem."
Lantern grew up cute.
Clover is cute, too. It's hard to tell from this picture but she's got Jordan's hair, dark brown with dark red streaks. This pleases me.
"I got married, Grandpa!!"
Violet is on her way to some ceremony at City Hall in her honor. At least it's not pouring rain.
"Damn, that's a lot of old people."
"Uh, Ma'am? I'm trying to get started."
"Hold on, let me tie my .................. uh.............. nevermind."
"Oh, a present!! Cool! I thought it was going to be something lame, like an actual key. Thanks!!"
"Uh, thanks everybody! Bye!"
Not at all awkward.
"It IS a key? What kind of present is that? I mean, they said it was a key ceremony, but why wrap it up like a present?"
It doesn't matter, she doesn't get to keep it.
"Eh."
"Move over, Pinky! I want to sit on that side of the couch."
"Fuck off, Mom. You sit on the other side."
"Try and watch the game now, Pinky Pie!!"
Gnomes: "Hey! How about you bitches go fight somewhere else?"
We're going to end this chapter with Dewy doing the single most inappropriate thing any sim of mine has ever done. Prior to this, if asked "Which of your sims would turn out to have the most wildly questionable judgement ever?", I would not have answered "Mt. Dew". And yet here we are.
"Okay, I'm a married man, I get it. I should not have sent a woohooty text. I'm sorry."
"Dude, isn't that your sister?"
Yes, Ricky. Yes it is. And she's not just his sister. Yoda and Dewy are 2/3rds of a triplet set.
MOUNTAIN DEW HOGGLE!!!!
"Uhhhhhh. It was a joke?"
You know what? I can't even look at you right now. We're ending this chapter, Dewy. I don't even know how to follow this up. ARE YOU HAPPY NOW???
"Am I supposed to answer that?"
NO!
